How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Location: Central Belt of Scotland

    Permanent | Home Every Night

Take the next step in your Civil Engineering career

Are you an experienced Site Engineer looking for a stable, permanent role with varied projects, a strong pipeline of work and a team where people tend to stay?

We are recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join a well-established Scottish civil engineering contractor delivering a range of civil engineering and groundwork projects across the Central Belt.

With low staff turnover, a strong team culture and projects close to home, this is a great opportunity for someone looking for long-term stability while continuing to develop their career.

    The Role

Working closely with the Site Agent and Contracts Manager, you'll help ensure projects are delivered safely, accurately and to programme.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Setting out works in line with drawings and specifications.
    • Reading and interpreting construction drawings.
    • Monitoring works against specifications and quality standards.
    • Supporting the Site Agent and Contracts Manager with technical duties.
    • Liaising with clients, subcontractors and colleagues to resolve issues.
    • Maintaining accurate site records and supporting health and safety requirements.

    About You

    You'll ideally have:

    • Proven experience as a Site Engineer within civil engineering.
    • Experience in groundwork and/or civil engineering projects.
    • HNC, HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or a relevant discipline.
    • Valid CSCS card.
    • Full UK driving licence.

You'll be technically capable, practical and confident working on live construction sites, with the ability to work independently as part of a wider team.

    Legal Information:

We act as an employment agency for permanent work and as an employment business for temporary work.

For roles in the UK, applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
