How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Heating Energy - Renewable Energy

    We are recruiting for a Qualified Heating Engineer to join a growing renewable energy company specialising in the design and installation of sustainable heating systems across the UK.

    As a Qualified Heating Engineer, you will work on a range of domestic and commercial renewable heating projects, including air source and ground source heat pumps. Full renewable training can be provided for an experienced heating engineer looking to move into the sector.

    The role

    Install air source heat pumps
    Install ground source heat pumps
    Work with biomass heating systems
    Install other renewable heating technologies
    Work across domestic and commercial projects
    Travel nationwide and lodge away when required
    Deliver installations to a high standard as a Qualified Heating Engineer

    The successful Qualified Heating Engineer will need

    NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Plumbing & Heating
    Previous heating engineering experience
    Strong practical plumbing and heating knowledge
    Willingness to travel and stay away when required
    Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    NVQ Level 3 Plumbing & Heating would be advantageous
    Previous renewable or heat pump experience is desirable but not essential
    A willingness to develop within renewables as a Qualified Heating Engineer
