How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Lecturer in Health & Social Care (Variable Hours)

    Location: Chippenham

    Salary: Unqualified: £21.13 per hour plus holiday pay Qualified: £25.34 per hour plus holiday pay

    Join Wiltshire College & University Centre and help students develop the knowledge, confidence, practical skills, and professional behaviours they need to progress into careers across the health and social care sector or further study.

    We're particularly interested in candidates with experience in Further Education (FE), nursing, social work, childcare, health and community services, care settings, NHS services, residential care, mental health, public health, or related sectors.     Please note: This is a Variable Hours position, with teaching hours dependent on curriculum delivery.

    What You'll Do

    * Teach and assess students studying Health & Social Care programmes

    * Deliver engaging lessons covering health, social care, wellbeing, human development, safeguarding, and professional practice

    * Develop lesson plans and assessment strategies that support learner achievement

    * Bring professional knowledge and real-world experience into the classroom

    * Support enrichment activities, work experience, educational visits, competitions, and employer engagement

    * Keep learning current with developments in health, social care, legislation, policy, equality, safeguarding, and professional practice

    * Provide pastoral support and contribute to enrolment and induction

    * Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health & safety, confidentiality, and professional practice

    * Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver an outstanding learner experience

    What You'll Bring

    * A Level 3 qualification or higher and/or significant experience in Health & Social Care, Nursing, Social Work, Childcare, Health Studies, or a related subject

    * Relevant industry, professional, or teaching experience

    * Good knowledge of the health and social care sector and current developments

    * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    * A passion for helping learners develop and achieve their career ambitions

    * Teaching qualifications are welcomed but not essential—we welcome experienced health and social care professionals looking to move into education
