Duties
* Set up CNC machines by installing tooling, fixtures, and programming parameters based on job specifications.
* Operate CNC equipment to produce parts with precision, ensuring adherence to dimensions and tolerances.
* Perform routine inspections of machined parts using hand tools and measurement devices such as calipers and micrometers.
* Adjust machine settings or tooling as needed to optimize performance and maintain quality standards.
* Conduct turning, milling, or other machining operations on various materials including plastics and metals.
* Collaborate with engineering teams using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and One CNC software for interpreting technical drawings and modifying programs.
* Maintain a clean, safe workspace by following proper safety protocols and performing regular machine maintenance.
Requirements
* Proven experience operating CNC milling machinery in a manufacturing environment.
* Strong mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on skills using hand tools, power tools, and tooling setups.
* Familiarity with CAD software such as One CNC for interpreting drawings and making adjustments.
* Ability to perform basic math calculations related to measurements, tolerances, and machine settings
* A Good understanding of tooling selection, setup procedures, and quality control measures.
* Excellent attention to detail with a proactive approach to troubleshooting issues quickly and efficiently
Salary description
£15.50 - £17.00 per hour
