The Role - Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Due to impressive project and programme developments, we are seeking to recruit Mechanical Design Engineers to support our client's engineering operations.
You'll need strong experience in the design and development of mechanical components and assemblies for rotating equipment in the aerospace sector. Demonstrable experience in the design of components such as gears, seals, rotors, transmissions or motors would be highly valuable.
Due to the complexity of the role candidates must be confident using Siemens NX design software.
Duties - Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies.
Create accurate technical drawings and 3D CAD models.
Support product development activities through full product lifecycle.
Apply GD&T and perform tolerance analysis.
Participate in DFMEA and risk identification activities.
Present design concepts, progress updates and design maturity at technical review gates.
Support prototype build, testing and troubleshooting activities.
Generate and maintain design documentation.
Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement activities.
Background- Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Minimum HNC/HND qualification.
Strong experience designing rotating equipment.
Working knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-ups.
Experience with 3D CAD systems (Siemens NX Essential).
Experience with PLM/PDM systems (Teamcenter preferred).
Aerospace experiencer preferred.
