I am currently recruiting on behalf of an established international freight forwarding business for an experienced Road Freight Forwarder to join their team in Leinster.
This is a great opportunity for someone with solid European road freight experience who enjoys managing shipments from initial booking right through to final delivery, with the role predominantly focused on imports.
The Role
You will take ownership of a portfolio of road freight shipments, coordinating the complete forwarding process while maintaining strong communication with customers, hauliers and overseas partners.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing road freight imports from start to finish
Arranging collections and deliveries across Ireland and Europe
Booking transport with hauliers and coordinating schedules
Preparing and checking shipping and customs documentation
Tracking shipments and proactively resolving delays or issues
Liaising with customers, suppliers, carriers and international partners
Handling quotations, bookings and shipment updates
Monitoring costs, charges and invoicing
Ensuring shipments are delivered accurately and on time
Providing a high level of customer service throughout the shipment lifecycle
What They're Looking For
Previous experience within road freight forwarding
Strong knowledge of European road imports
Experience managing shipments end-to-end
Good understanding of transport documentation and customs processes
Confident communicating with customers, hauliers and overseas agents
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously
A proactive, solutions-focused approach
