How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Graduate Recruitment Consultant – Liverpool Street, London

    Hamilton Barnes is a specialist recruitment business focused on the technology and infrastructure industries. We recruit across areas including networking, cloud, cybersecurity, data centres, and enterprise IT.

    We have been awarded Sunday Times Best Places to Work (2023, 2024 & 2025) and recognised by the Financial Times as one of Europe’s 1,000 fastest-growing companies.

    We are looking for ambitious graduates and junior sales professionals to join our London team. No previous recruitment experience is required.

    What will you be doing?

    As a Recruitment Consultant, you will manage the full recruitment process, working with both candidates and clients.

    Your day-to-day will include:

    * Speaking to candidates over the phone and understanding their experience, career goals and availability

    * Sourcing candidates through LinkedIn, CV databases and our internal systems

    * Building relationships with candidates and keeping in regular contact with them

    * Speaking with businesses to understand their hiring requirements and introducing suitable candidates

    * Writing and advertising vacancies across relevant job boards

    * Arranging interviews and supporting candidates throughout the process

    * Negotiating offers and managing the process through to a successful placement

    * Keeping on top of your pipeline and working towards daily and weekly targets

    You will be fully provided with our internally led training programme, covering the basics of sales, recruitment, our technology markets and the systems we use. From there, you will gradually take more ownership of your own client base, candidates and market field.

    What we're looking for

    We hire people based on potential rather than previous recruitment experience.

    You could be a recent graduate, have some sales/customer-facing experience, or simply be someone who enjoys competition and wants a career where your performance directly impacts your earnings.

    We're particularly interested in people who are:

    * Competitive and motivated by targets

    * Confident speaking to new people

    * Resilient and comfortable being told "no"

    * Organised and able to manage multiple conversations at once

    * Commercially minded and interested in building a career in sales

    * Sociable, driven and willing to put the work in

    What you get

    * £26,000 base salary (£35k+ 1st Year OTE Earnings)

    * Uncapped commission

    * 12-week structured training programme

    * Clear progression opportunities

    * Daily competitions and incentives

    * Regular team events and social activities

    * Opportunity to work within a well-established specialist technology recruitment market

    If you want a role where you can see a direct link between the work you put in and what you earn, this will be for you.
