How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Financial Services Manager

    FINANCIAL SERVICES MANAGER

    SALARY: £55,893 per annum

    Location: Northallerton / hybrid

    Working pattern: Hybrid - Typically 2 -3 days per week in the office

    THE OPPORTUNITY

    The Financial Services Manager will lead the essential financial operations, systems, procurement and insurance services that support Broadacres every day. With responsibility for accounts payable, cashbook and banking, payroll, finance systems, insurance and procurement, you will ensure these services are accurate, compliant, responsive and trusted. This is an opportunity to modernise processes, strengthen integration and automation, and make it easier for colleagues to work effectively. Your leadership will help protect the housing portfolio, improve control and customer service, and support managers to deliver compliant procurement, strong value for money and wider social value.

    KEY PRIORITIES

    • Lead accurate, well-controlled cashbook, banking, payment and accounts payable services.

    • Deliver an accurate and compliant payroll and pension administration service in partnership with the People Team.

    • Own and develop core finance systems, strengthening user controls, integration, documentation, upgrades and automation.

    • Maintain appropriate, cost-effective insurance cover and manage renewals, claims and broker relationships.

    • Develop procurement policy, guidance, tendering support and contract oversight, while building manager capability.

    • Embed strong controls, excellent internal customer service and a culture of continuous improvement.

    • Lead and develop a high-performing Financial Services team.

    Experience

    Essential

    • Leading financial operations, including accounts payable, cashbook and payroll.

    • Implementing financial controls and operational procedures.

    • Managing supplier relationships and finance systems.

    • Leading, motivating and developing teams. Desirable

    • Social housing or not-for-profit.

    • Insurance policy and claims management.

    • Procurement and contract management.

    • Systems change and process automation.

    Skills

    Essential

    • Strong people management and operational leadership.

    • Attention to detail, organisation and timely evidence-based decisions.

    • Problem analysis, communication and relationship building.

    • Delivery against demanding targets, standards and deadlines.

    Desirable

    • Finance systems administration and configuration.

    • Process mapping and continuous improvement.

    Knowledge

    Essential

    • Financial operations, controls, payments and banking.

    • Payroll legislation, deductions and compliance.

    • Procurement principles, finance systems, data integrity and Excel.

    Desirable

    • Procurement legislation and tender evaluation.

    • Insurance, finance automation and service

    improvement methods.

    Qualifications / requirements

    Essential

    • Relevant payroll or bookkeeping qualification at Level 3 or above, or equivalent experience.

    • Current driving licence and flexibility outside normal hours.

    • Typically 2 days per week across Broadacres' portfolio.
