Key Responsibilities:
Production of EC&I design concepts, including SLDs, BCDs, cable schedules, and layouts.
Knowledge of control system hardware and software.
Experience in Functional Safety adhering to BS EN 61508 & 61511 standards.
Ensure designs conform to British and European standards and client requirements.
Maintain an LTQR / Technical File as per NSG Quality Management Systems.
Address operability, maintainability, and safety issues in designs.
Meet project programme and budget requirements.
Prepare design justification reports to mitigate identified technical risks.
Create functional safety and controls design documentation, including FDS, SIDD, and Functional Safety Plans.
Develop detailed manufacturing information such as drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
Check in-house and subcontract drawing documentation.
Produce EC&I technical specifications and commissioning documentation, including FAT and SAT.
Manage subcontract supplier relationships and oversee commissioning activities.
Interpret and create EC&I engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
Author engineering reports, e.g., basis of design, substantiation, and calculation reports.
Job Requirements:
Relevant Engineering Degree, HNC or demonstrable equivalent experience.
Membership of appropriate technical/professional body (desirable).
IOSH Managing Safely or Level 2 Health & Safety in the Workplace or equivalent (training provided if required).
Competent user of MS Office and proficient in producing technical reports and documents.
Experience in risk assessment techniques and engineering substantiation (desirable).
Resource management and planning skills (desirable).
Knowledge of SIL rating and BS EN 61508 / 61511 (desirable).
Effective presentation skills and the ability to communicate with colleagues, stakeholders, and contractors at all levels.
Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, & 18001 (desirable)
Salary description
£47.00 - £55.00 per hour
