How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Our client, a leading organisation in the water sector, is seeking a Quality Engineer for a contract role supporting clean water infrastructure projects. The role will focus on the production, management and close-out of quality and handover documentation across Thames Water projects.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Supporting the preparation, management and close-out of handover documentation
    Maintaining accurate quality records throughout the project lifecycle
    Working with project, engineering and construction teams to ensure documentation meets required standards
    Reviewing quality documentation for completeness, accuracy and compliance
    Monitoring document progress and identifying outstanding information required for project handover
    Contributing to quality assurance processes across clean water infrastructure projects
    Supporting the resolution of quality issues and ensuring corrective actions are properly recorded
    Communicating with internal teams, subcontractors and wider project stakeholders

    Job Requirements:

    Experience in a Quality Engineer, QA Engineer or similar role within civil engineering or the water sector
    Understanding of quality management systems and construction documentation
    Knowledge of civil engineering processes, particularly within clean water infrastructure
    Experience producing, reviewing and managing handover documentation
    Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
    Ability to interpret technical information and maintain accurate project records
    Confident communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams
    Understanding of relevant construction, health and safety and quality standards
