How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Confident, organised and a natural team leader?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy produce business where you'll play a key role in keeping production running smoothly, efficiently and to the highest possible standards.

Working in a fast paced packhouse environment, you'll lead a team on the production line, making sure everyone knows what they're doing, production targets are achieved and customers receive exactly what they've ordered.

If you're someone who leads by example, enjoys working with people and thrives when there's a target to hit, this could be the role for you.

    What's on offer?

    * £14.07 per hour during training
    * £15.27 per hour following successful completion of training
    * 4 days on / 3 days off shift pattern
    * Fast paced production environment
    * Opportunity to lead and develop a team
    * Genuine responsibility from day one
    * Work closely with Planning, Warehouse, Quality and Production Management
    * Opportunity to support continuous improvement and operational performance

    What's the job?

You'll take responsibility for the day to day running of a production line, ensuring the team is working safely, efficiently and to the required quality and productivity standards.

You'll be the person making sure the right fruit, packaging, labels, weights and customer specifications are being followed, while keeping the line moving and dealing with any issues as they arise.

    Day to day, you'll be:

    * Managing and motivating a team, giving clear instructions and leading by example
    * Ensuring production targets and run rates are achieved
    * Checking the correct fruit, packaging, labels, weights, counts and customer specifications are being followed
    * Monitoring product quality and reporting any issues or trends immediately
    * Making sure production lines are correctly cleared, cleaned and set up before each job
    * Working closely with Planning, Warehouse, Quality Control and Production Management
    * Minimising waste, product damage and unnecessary handling
    * Ensuring staff follow correct break times, productivity and working standards
    * Maintaining high standards of Health & Safety, Food Safety, HACCP, GMP and hygiene
    * Checking staff compliance with PPE, hand washing, clothing and site safety procedures
    * Reporting accidents, near misses, hazards, damage and equipment issues promptly
    * Completing production paperwork, records and Prophet system updates accurately
    * Ensuring pallets, labels and production records are correct and legally compliant
    * Supporting the training, coaching and development of team members
    * Providing cover for colleagues and remaining flexible when the operation needs it

This is a hands on leadership role where communication and attention to detail are critical. You'll need to be comfortable making decisions, managing people and keeping things moving when the pressure is on.

    What do I need?

    * Previous production, packhouse or supervisory experience would be desirable
    * Confident managing and motivating a team
    * Strong attention to detail and accuracy
    * Fluent English, both written and verbal
    * Good communication skills and the confidence to give clear instructions
    * Ability to work under pressure and meet production targets and deadlines
    * A positive, professional attitude and strong work ethic
    * Physically fit and comfortable working in a demanding, fast paced production environment
    * Strong understanding of workplace safety, hygiene and quality standards
    * Flexible, reliable and willing to support the wider team

Most importantly, you'll need to be someone who leads by example. You'll take pride in your work, support your team and understand the importance of getting things right first time.
