How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Electronics Technician

    The Opportunity

Are you an Electronics Technician who enjoys getting hands-on with new products, solving problems and seeing your work become part of something real?

This is an opportunity to join a growing technical team working across a genuinely varied mix of projects – from consumer products and innovative transport solutions through to safety-critical medical devices.

You'll be working in a product development environment rather than production, meaning you'll be getting involved with prototypes, circuit modifications, PCB rework and development work from the early stages of a project. Your practical skills will have a direct impact on how products are designed, tested and brought to life.

You'll also work alongside Designers, Mechanical Engineers, Software Engineers and other specialists, so this would suit someone who enjoys being part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team.

    What You'll Be Doing

    *

Hand-soldering and reworking PCBs to a very high standard, including small surface-mount components.

    *

Building prototype circuits, circuit modifications and breadboard assemblies from engineering briefs.

    *

Supporting electronics development across multiple projects.

    *

Using electronics CAD systems to investigate PCB designs and component information.

    *

Progressing into PCB component creation and layout of test boards where required.

    *

Supporting engineers with practical testing, modifications and development activities.

    *

Maintaining the electronics laboratory, equipment and general workshop organisation.

    *

Managing requests from multiple projects and organising your workload effectively.

    *

Working closely with designers, mechanical engineers, software engineers and other technical specialists.

    *

Helping troubleshoot and resolve practical electronics and prototype issues.

    What We're Looking For

This role would suit a hands-on Electronics Technician who takes pride in their workmanship and enjoys learning new things. You don't need to know everything from day one – a can-do attitude, curiosity and willingness to get stuck in are just as important as your existing technical knowledge.

    You'll ideally have:

    *

Strong practical soldering and PCB rework experience, including fine-pitch surface-mount components.

    *

Experience working within a product development, R&D or prototype environment rather than solely in production.

    *

A sound understanding of PCBs and fundamental electronic circuits.

    *

    Familiarity with electronics CAD systems.

    *

Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing requests.

    *

Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with engineers across different disciplines.

    *

A relevant Electronics qualification alongside your practical experience.

    *

The ability to quickly absorb new information and develop new technical skills.

    Why This Role?

The variety is a major part of the appeal. You'll be exposed to different products, technologies and industries rather than repeatedly working on the same production line.

If you're someone who loves working with electronics rather than just talking about it, takes pride in getting a prototype working, and wants your practical skills to contribute to products that can genuinely make a difference, this could be a great next move.
