Are you an experienced Cover Supervisor looking for flexible work in Bradford?
Tradewind Education are currently recruiting Cover Supervisors to work across a successful secondary school partnership in Bradford. We have opportunities available for candidates seeking day-to-day supply, short-term and long-term assignments, offering flexibility to suit your availability and career goals.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will play an important role in maintaining continuity of learning when teachers are absent. You will be responsible for supervising students, delivering pre-prepared work and ensuring a positive and productive classroom environment.
The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:
Supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher.
Delivering pre-prepared lessons and ensuring students remain engaged with their work.
Managing classroom behaviour in line with the school's policies and expectations.
Providing a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
Supporting students with their learning where appropriate.
Taking attendance and reporting any concerns to the appropriate member of staff.
Ensuring students complete the work provided by their classroom teacher.
Providing feedback to teaching staff regarding student engagement and behaviour.
Following school safeguarding and health and safety procedures.
Working collaboratively with teachers and other school staff.
Job Requirements
We are looking for Cover Supervisors who have:
Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within a secondary school setting.
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to confidently supervise groups of secondary-aged students.
A calm, professional and positive approach.
The ability to follow lesson plans and instructions effectively.
Flexibility and reliability.
A genuine commitment to supporting students' education and wellbeing.
A good understanding of safeguarding within an educational environment.Experience as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, Learning Mentor, Tutor or similar role is desirable. Graduates who are considering a career in teaching are also encouraged to apply.
