How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Teaching: Key Stages 3 & 4
Daily Rate: £178 - £277 per day, depending on experience

Are you a passionate and inspirational Music Teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity in a high-achieving secondary school?

We are delighted to be working with a highly regarded, academically successful grammar school in Kent, seeking an enthusiastic Music Teacher to join its vibrant and ambitious department for one day per week, starting immediately and continuing for a full term.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who wants to make a genuine impact in the classroom while working with motivated, talented and curious young people.

    About the Role

As a Music Teacher, you will teach Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 Music, delivering engaging, challenging and practical lessons that inspire students to develop their musical understanding, creativity and confidence.

Music at the school is a highly practical subject, with students learning through an exciting combination of listening, performing and composing. The curriculum explores a wonderfully diverse range of musical styles and traditions, including popular music, film music, blues, reggae, hip hop, Indian classical music, Baroque music and the development of music technology.

At Key Stage 4, students develop their skills through areas including film music, popular music and world rhythms, alongside ongoing performance and composition work.

You will have the opportunity to encourage students to become confident musicians, challenge their thinking and help them develop their skills across performance, composition and musical analysis.

    Why This Opportunity?

This is much more than simply covering a timetable for a day a week.

You will be joining a happy, purposeful and vibrant school community with exceptionally high academic standards and a strong commitment to both academic excellence and personal success.

The school places students at the heart of everything it does and is committed to developing confident, caring, curious and ambitious young people. Its three core values - Curiosity, Courage and Compassion - underpin the wider culture of the school.

    You can expect:

    Highly motivated and engaged students
A strong culture of academic excellence and high expectations
A broad, ambitious and thoughtfully sequenced curriculum
A genuinely practical and creative approach to Music
Students who are encouraged to think hard, take intellectual risks and develop independence
A supportive and forward-thinking teaching environment
Excellent opportunities for enrichment and wider musical experiences
A school that values both student achievement and wellbeing
The chance to make a real difference within a thriving Music department

    The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a teacher who:

Is passionate about Music and loves sharing that enthusiasm with young people
Can inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4
Has strong subject knowledge and confidence across performance, composition and musical understanding
Can create engaging, purposeful and practical lessons
Has high expectations of students and themselves
Encourages creativity, curiosity and independent thinking
Is committed to helping every student achieve their potential
Is an excellent communicator and positive role model
Can quickly build strong relationships with students and colleagues
Brings energy, enthusiasm and a genuine love of teaching

An Opportunity to Make an Impact

If you are a musician and educator who believes that Music should be experienced, created and performed - not simply studied, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

You will be joining a school where students are encouraged to explore, question, create and perform, while developing the resilience, confidence and determination they need for life beyond school.

If you're ready to inspire the next generation of musicians, we'd love to hear from you.
