How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Ready to help maintain the structures within our Energy department?

    We're looking for skilled Structural Craft Professionals to join a number of our Energy Team at our Scunthorpe site. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a challenging and rewarding environment where your expertise will play a key role in supporting the safety, reliability, and performance of our assets.

    As a Structural Craft Professional, you'll carry out a wide range of structural maintenance activities, ensuring our plant infrastructure remains safe, reliable, and fit for purpose. Whether responding to defects, carrying out repairs, or supporting planned maintenance work, you'll use your technical skills to help keep our operations running smoothly.

    Working in a highly automated and technologically advanced setting, you'll be part of a team committed to operational excellence and continuous improvement. Safety is at the heart of everything we do, so you'll need a strong understanding of health and safety legislation, company procedures, and safe systems of work. You'll be confident identifying hazards, assessing risks, and implementing effective control measures while carrying out your duties.

    What We’re looking for

    The successful candidate will:

    * Be a motivated and enthusiastic team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    * Thrive in a collaborative environment and be willing to undertake training and development opportunities.

    * Bring a positive, proactive approach to their work and contribute to a high-performing team culture.

    * Demonstrate strong reliability, professionalism, and excellent timekeeping.

    * Be adaptable and eager to learn, with the ability to work on a variety of equipment, structures, and maintenance activities.

    What you need to bring

    To be considered for this opportunity, you'll need:

    * A minimum NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant structural, fabrication, welding, plating, or engineering discipline, or

    * A recognised apprenticeship in a relevant trade.*

    Ideally, you'll have experience in structural maintenance, repair, fabrication, or fault identification within a manufacturing, industrial, commercial, or heavy engineering environment. Just as importantly, you'll have the flexibility to adapt to new equipment, processes, and ways of working, along with the drive to continuously develop your skills.

    Experience within the steel industry would be beneficial, but it's not essential. We provide comprehensive training and support to help you succeed in the role and build a rewarding long-term career with us.

    *Evidence of qualifications/apprenticeship completion will be required.

    What we can offer you
    We know our employees are our greatest asset and alongside the great benefits packages we offer, we continue to invest in their careers by providing a huge range of training and development opportunities.

    Whatever your stage in life, you'll find a range of benefits to complement your work-life balance. The benefits you'll enjoy include:

    * Defined contribution company pension scheme

    * 27 personal annual leave days + statutory bank holidays

    * Life Assurance

    * A comprehensive Company sick pay scheme

    * Health Cash Plan via our partnership with Simply health

    * Employee Assistance Programme

    * Standby and call-out payments

    * Family friendly benefits including enhanced maternity, paternity, and adoption leave.
