How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Love working with people? Great at keeping things organised? Want to make a real difference?

We’re looking for an Adult Learning - Partnerships & Engagement Officer to join our friendly Adult Learning and Commercial Enterprise team.

This is a varied role where no two days are quite the same. You’ll work with employers, community groups, learners and colleagues across the College to help create and deliver great opportunities for adults across Wiltshire.

You don’t need to know everything about adult learning or funding already — we’ll give you the training you need. What matters most is that you’re organised, approachable, good with people and happy to get stuck in.

    What We Offer

    Salary: £26,543 per year

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

    Location: Trowbridge Campus

    Outstanding Benefits

    Local Government Pension Scheme

30 days paid annual leave plus 8 days paid bank holidays

College closure and wellbeing days, including a 2-week paid Christmas closure

    Electric Vehicle Scheme

    Employee Assistance Programme

    Free On-Site Gyms

    Lifestyle Discounts

    Cycle-to-Work Scheme

    Professional Development and career progression

    Additional staff perks and discounts

    What You’ll Do

You’ll help us make sure our adult learning offer works well, reaches the right people and continues to grow.

    Your day-to-day will include:

    * Working with employers and local organisations to understand what training they need

    * Building great relationships with our partners and communities

    * Going to employer and community events across Wiltshire

    * Helping people enrol onto courses

    * Checking paperwork and making sure everything is correct

    * Supporting funding and compliance requirements

    * Helping the team meet learner recruitment targets

    * Supporting lecturers, Heads of Faculties and other College teams

    * Helping us develop new courses and training opportunities

    * Promoting our adult learning offer to employers, communities and potential learners

    * Supporting new business and income opportunities

In short, you’ll help connect people, employers and learning opportunities.

What kind of person are we looking for?

You may already have experience in adult learning, training, education, business development or employer engagement, although this isn’t essential.

What matters most is that you’re someone who:

    * Is friendly, confident and approachable

    * Enjoys talking to different people and building relationships

    * Is organised and good at keeping on top of things

    * Has a good eye for detail

    * Is comfortable checking information and paperwork

    * Can work on your own but also enjoys being part of a team

    * Is confident explaining courses and opportunities to others

    * Likes solving problems and getting things done

    * Is happy travelling around Wiltshire for meetings and events

A full, clean driving licence is essential for this role.

Experience of further education or funded training would be great, but it isn't essential.

    Why this role matters

    Adult learning can change lives.

The work you do could help someone gain a qualification, learn a new skill, find a better job, change career or simply give them the confidence to try something new.

You’ll also help local employers find the skills they need and help communities across Wiltshire access the learning and opportunities available to them.

So while there’s plenty of admin involved, this isn’t just an office job.

It’s a chance to meet people, build partnerships, come up with new ideas and help make things happen.

    Ready for your next opportunity?

If you’re organised, people-focused and ready to make a difference, we’d love to hear from you.

Grow opportunity. Build partnerships. Support adult success.

    Closing date: 24/09/26

Vacancies may close early if sufficient applications have been received; therefore, we would encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible.
