How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    What We Offer

    Salary:
    Unqualified Lecturer: £29,294 per year, pro rata
    Qualified Lecturer: £31,885 – £40,814 per year, pro rata
    (Depending on Skills, Qualifications & Experience)

    Contract Type: Permanent, Part Time 22.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

    What You'll Do

    * Teach and assess learners across a range of English programmes, including GCSE and Functional Skills

    * Deliver engaging, accessible lessons that develop learners' reading, writing, speaking and listening skills

    * Support learners with varying abilities, including those who may lack confidence in English

    * Use creative, inclusive and practical approaches to make English relevant to everyday life, employment and further study

    * Maintain high standards of safeguarding, professionalism, and learner wellbeing

    * Track learner progress and provide constructive feedback to support achievement

    What You'll Bring

    * A relevant English qualification (Level 3 or above)

    * Strong subject knowledge and the ability to explain concepts clearly and patiently

    * Experience working with learners or supporting others in education or training

    * A commitment to inclusive teaching and learner success

    * A Level 4 teaching qualification or above is welcomed — but if you don’t have one yet, we’ll support you to achieve it while you work
