A welcoming and ambitious primary school in Merton is seeking an enthusiastic KS1 Teacher to join its collaborative teaching team.
The school provides a broad and engaging curriculum, with a strong focus on early reading, communication and building secure foundations in English and mathematics. The successful KS1 Teacher will create a stimulating classroom where pupils feel confident, supported and excited to learn.
Responsibilities
• Planning and delivering engaging lessons across the KS1 curriculum
• Teaching systematic synthetic phonics and supporting early reading
• Developing pupils’ writing, mathematics and communication skills
• Using assessment to plan appropriate support and challenge
• Adapting teaching for pupils with SEND, EAL or gaps in learning
• Maintaining a positive and well-managed classroom
• Working closely with teaching assistants and year-group colleagues
• Communicating pupils’ progress to parents and carers
• Contributing to wider school life and curriculum development
Requirements
• UK Qualified Teacher Status
• Recent experience teaching in Key Stage 1
• Good knowledge of the primary curriculum and phonics
• Strong planning, assessment and behaviour-management skills
• A creative and nurturing approach
• A commitment to inclusive teaching and high expectations

• An enhanced DBS check, or willingness to complete one
