How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

F-Gas Trainer & Assessor (Full Training Provided)

    St Ives, Cambridgeshire

    £40,000 - £55,000 + Pension + 36 Days Holiday + Healthcare Options + Full Training & Development + Monday to Friday

Are you an experienced Refrigeration or Air Conditioning Engineer looking to come off the tools and take the next step in your career?

Would you like to use your industry experience to train the next generation of engineers, while gaining full training to become an F-Gas Trainer and Assessor?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a small, family-run private training provider where your industry experience will be genuinely valued. You will be joining a close-knit team that specialises in delivering high-quality technical training to engineers and apprentices.

The organisation has built a strong reputation for practical, industry-focused training and is now looking for an experienced Refrigeration or Air Conditioning Engineer to join the team and develop into a F-Gas Trainer and Assessor.
You do not need previous teaching or assessing experience. The company will provide full training and support to help you develop the skills needed to deliver F-Gas training and assessments. This makes the role particularly suited to an engineer who has strong hands-on experience but has never considered teaching before.

You will initially use your existing technical knowledge while developing your teaching and assessment skills. Over time, you will become responsible for delivering F-Gas and ODS training, helping both new and experienced engineers gain the qualifications they need to progress within the industry.

The training will cover areas including refrigerant handling, F-Gas and ODS legislation, leak detection, pressure testing, pipework and brazing, environmental responsibilities and safe working practices. You will also support learners working towards Category 1-4 F-Gas certification, helping them develop both their practical skills and technical understanding.

This is a great opportunity for an engineer who is ready for a change from site-based work but still wants to remain closely connected to the industry. You will be able to pass on the knowledge you have built throughout your career, develop a new professional skill set and build a long-term career within technical training.

With a Monday to Friday working week, a structured working environment and full training provided, this is an ideal opportunity to move away from the pressures of working on the tools without moving away from the industry you know.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer to take the next step in their career, receive full training and become a qualified trainer, while working for a small, family-run organisation where your industry experience can make a real difference.

    The Role:

Deliver practical and classroom-based F-Gas and ODS training
Share your practical industry knowledge and experience with learners
Maintain training equipment and workshop facilities
Work as part of a small, supportive and experienced team
Monday to Friday, based in St Ives, Huntingdon

    The Person:

Experienced Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineer
Level 2 Award in F-Gas and ODS Regulations - Category 1
Recognised Refrigeration and Air Conditioning qualification
Strong technical knowledge and practical understanding
Good communication skills and the ability to explain technical information
Interested in moving away from day-to-day work on the tools
Interested in developing a career in technical training
