How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

BOM and Change Controller - Manufacturing assembly

BOM and Change Controller - Manufacturing assembly with electrification and injection moulding inputs
    Coventry
£35,000 plus 33 days holiday (including bank holidays), pension, life assurance, employee assistance programme, wellbeing support, and flexible benefits including cycle to work scheme

    About the Role
Unipart Manufacturing is launching a flagship, fast-paced manufacturing project in Coventry, combining high-volume electrification assembly with complex injection moulding inputs.  Fully aligned with Unipart’s Sector and Growth Strategy and The Unipart Way Forward Plan, this exciting venture will scale rapidly from zero to over 200 team members within a four-month period.  We are seeking an experienced BOM and Change Controller to establish, maintain, and govern complex Bill of Materials (BOM) structures and engineering change processes across our electro-mechanical manufacturing programs.  Joining at the ground level, you will serve as the crucial link between Design Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, and Operations - ensuring absolute configuration control, seamless Engineering Change Order (ECO) execution, and data integrity in a dynamic, high-volume environment.

As part of your key responsibilities you’ll focus on:
BOM Governance and Management - Structure, create, and maintain accurate multi-level Bills of Materials (Engineering BOM to Manufacturing BOM) within the ERP/MRP system (IFS)
Engineering Change Control - Lead the Engineering Change Management process, chairing Change Control Boards (CCB) and managing ECOs/ECNs from initial request through to shop-floor implementation
Configuration Integrity - Drive strict configuration control across fast-evolving electrification sub-assemblies, injection-moulded components, and mechanical hardware
Cross-Functional Coordination - Collaborate with Design Engineers, Material Planners, Quality, and Purchasing to assess change impact, runout timing, material obsolescence, and cost implications
Data Quality and Audit - Conduct regular BOM audits, track ECO implementation KPIs, and maintain master data integrity to ensure seamless procurement and production scheduling

    About You
We’d love you to have the following skills and experience, but please apply if you think you’d be able to perform well in this role!
Proven Change Control Track Record - Extensive experience as a BOM Specialist, Change Controller, or Configuration Engineer within high-precision manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, or defence sectors
ERP/PLM Systems Proficiency - Hands-on mastery of ERP/MRP systems (such as IFS, SAP) and PLM software for managing multi-level BOMs and change workflows
Engineering and Supply Chain Understanding - Strong technical comprehension of mechanical assemblies, electrical harnesses, or plastic moulding components, with a solid grasp of DFM/NPI principles
Analytical and Detail-Oriented - Exceptional organisational skills with a data-driven approach to tracking engineering revisions, component interchangeability, and effectivity dates
