How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Manufacturing Engineer - Manufacturing assembly

Manufacturing Engineer - Manufacturing assembly with electrification and injection moulding inputs
    Coventry
£52,000 plus 33 days holiday (including bank holidays), pension, life assurance, employee assistance programme, wellbeing support, and flexible benefits including cycle to work scheme

    About the Role
Unipart Manufacturing is launching a flagship, fast-paced manufacturing project in Coventry, combining high-volume electrification assembly with complex injection moulding inputs.  Fully aligned with Unipart’s Sector and Growth Strategy and The Unipart Way Forward Plan, this exciting venture will scale rapidly from zero to over 200 team members within a four-month period.  We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer (Assembly and Battery) to lead the setup, industrialisation, and optimisation of assembly lines for advanced electrified systems and battery module integration.  Joining at the ground level, you will bridge the gap between design and volume production - defining process workflows, line layouts, tooling specifications, and high-voltage safety standards in a dynamic, high-impact evolving environment.

As part of your key responsibilities you’ll focus on:
Assembly and Line Setup - Design, industrialise, and commission assembly lines, work cells, and automated/semi-automated equipment for high-voltage electrification systems and mechanical sub-assemblies
Process and DFM Optimisation - Lead Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) reviews, establishing robust process flows, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and line balancing to maximise throughput
Quality and APQP Integration - Develop and implement process controls including PFMEAs, Control Plans, and Process Capability (Cpk) studies, utilizing 8D methodologies for rapid problem-solving during initial ramp-up
High-Voltage and Safety Compliance - Implement and maintain rigorous High-Voltage (HV) safety protocols, thermal containment guidelines, and tooling specifications for safe battery module handling
Tooling, Fixturing and Commissioning - Specify, procure, and sign off assembly tooling, jigs, fixtures, and end-of-line testing equipment in collaboration with external equipment suppliers

    About You
We’d love you to have the following skills and experience, but please apply if you think you’d be able to perform well in this role!
Manufacturing Engineering Track Record - Proven experience as a Manufacturing Engineer or Process Engineer in automotive, defence, aerospace, or electro-mechanical assembly sectors
Electrification and Battery Expertise - Direct hands-on experience in high-voltage battery module/pack assembly, wiring harness integration, or electrified powertrain manufacturing
NPI and Core Tools Mastery - Expert in New Product Introduction (NPI) frameworks, including PFMEA, DFM/DFA, line balancing, takt-time analysis, and lean manufacturing tools
Qualifications and Engineering Mindset - Degree or HND educated in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Automotive Engineering (or equivalent industrial experience) with strong problem-solving capabilities
