How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Join one of the UK's leading data centre contractors as an Intermediate Electrical Engineer on a flagship data centre project in London. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your engineering career within a progressive and highly respected contractor with a strong track record of delivering complex, technically demanding projects across multiple sectors.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for an Intermediate Electrical Engineer to further develop their technical and project experience within the rapidly expanding London data centre and mission-critical sector. With continued investment and a strong pipeline of projects across London and the UK, the successful candidate will gain valuable exposure to large-scale, technically complex electrical installations and work alongside experienced engineering and project teams.

The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in electrical engineering and construction, a proactive approach, and a willingness to develop their technical and project management skills. Previous data centre experience would be beneficial, although candidates with experience in commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or other large-scale construction projects will also be considered.

    Responsibilities

    * Assist with the preparation and maintenance of project engineering reports, tracking progress, technical deliverables, key milestones, and deadlines.

    * Review design documentation, IFC drawings, specifications, and technical information to develop a good understanding of the project scope and electrical requirements.

    * Assist with the design coordination process, working closely with the BIM and design teams to ensure installation drawings are coordinated and aligned with project requirements.

    * Support the site and installation teams in delivering electrical works to the required quality, safety, and technical standards.

    * Assist with reviewing subcontractor and supplier technical submissions to ensure proposed equipment and installations comply with project specifications and design requirements.

    * Work closely with the project, commercial, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure engineering activities remain aligned with the project programme.

    * Assist with the management of technical submittals, RFIs, technical queries, approvals, and document control.

    * Monitor electrical installation works on site and assist in ensuring installations comply with project specifications, UK standards, QA procedures, drawings, and commissioning requirements.

    * Assist with the coordination of electrical subcontractors and suppliers, monitoring progress and raising technical or programme issues with the Senior Engineer or Project Manager.

    * Attend design, technical, coordination, progress, and commissioning meetings and assist with tracking actions through to completion.

    * Assist in identifying technical issues, design discrepancies, and potential improvements and support the development of practical solutions.

    * Support the preparation of subcontractor and supplier tender packages alongside the commercial and quantity surveying teams.

    * Assist with quantity checks, material schedules, equipment schedules, and procurement information where required.

    * Support the project team during testing and commissioning activities, ensuring documentation, test results, and outstanding technical issues are properly recorded and managed.

    * Assist with project handover and close-out, including O&M information, as-built documentation, commissioning records, and outstanding defects.

    Requirements

    * Ideally 2–5 years' experience working with an electrical contractor or within a construction engineering environment.

    * Experience working on large-scale construction projects would be advantageous.

    * Previous experience within data centres, mission-critical, industrial, pharmaceutical, commercial, or other technically demanding environments would be beneficial.

    * Good understanding of electrical construction, installation, testing, commissioning, and technical coordination.

    * Good understanding of relevant UK electrical regulations, standards, specifications, and health and safety requirements.

    * Ability to read and understand electrical drawings, schematics, specifications, and technical documentation.

    * Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities within a fast-paced construction environment.

    * Good communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.

    * Experience using Navisworks and relevant engineering/project document management systems would be advantageous.

    * Familiarity with CAD/BIM environments and project planning systems such as Primavera P6 would be beneficial.

    * Ability to work effectively with Senior Engineers, Project Managers, clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, BIM teams, commercial teams, and site management.

    What's on Offer

    * Competitive London-based salary and comprehensive benefits package.

    * Opportunity to work on a high-profile and technically challenging data centre project in London.

    * Valuable exposure to major data centre and mission-critical infrastructure projects.

    * Opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers and industry professionals and develop your technical knowledge.
