How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

I am recruitng for an experienced Hire Logistics Team Leader for a very successful and long established organisation, based at their warehouse premises in Wickford, Essex. Monday to Friday 8am-5pm. Salary £30,000 - £40,000 depending on experience/skills.
This is a newly established role within the business and represents an excellent opportunity for an experienced logistics or warehouse professional to take ownership of the hire logistics function and play a key part in its development.
Initially operating as a standalone position, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to establish and develop the function, with plans to build a team as the operation continues to grow.
    The Role
Working in a busy, fast-paced environment, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation, dispatch, return and maintenance of the company's specialist hire equipment. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who enjoys being involved in the day-to-day operation while also having the initiative to improve processes and take ownership of their area.
    Key responsibilities will include:
    * Preparing, cleaning and checking the hire equipment ( technical products) and associated equipment ready for hire.
    * Programming equipment using specialist software — full training will be provided.
    * Picking, checking and securely packing equipment for dispatch.
    * Ensuring customer orders are accurate and complete before shipment.
    * Processing returned equipment and carrying out thorough condition and functionality checks.
    * Cleaning returned equipment to the required re-hire standard.
    * Identifying and recording damaged or faulty equipment and liaising with the Service Department.
    * Ensuring repaired equipment is returned to hire stock efficiently.
    * Managing the movement and tracking of a high volume of equipment.
    * Maintaining accurate stock and inventory records.
    * Recording dispatches, returns, repairs and equipment status on internal systems.
    * Supporting the smooth running of the Hire Logistics operation.
    * Developing efficient processes and procedures as the department grows.
    * Taking a proactive approach to resolving operational issues.
    About You
The successful candidate will be highly organised, detail-focused and proactive, with the ability to work efficiently in a busy operational environment.
Previous experience within logistics, warehouse operations, equipment hire or a similar environment would be highly beneficial.
    You should have:
    * Excellent organisational and attention-to-detail skills.
    * Good computer literacy and confidence using internal systems.
    * Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to use your own initiative.
    * Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with other departments.
    * The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    * A hands-on approach and willingness to get involved in the day-to-day operation.
    * Previous supervisory or team leadership experience would be advantageous.
Experience programming technical technical equipment would also be beneficial, although full training will be provided.
    Why Apply?
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful and growing business at an exciting point in its development.
The role offers the chance to take genuine ownership of an important function, introduce and develop processes, and ultimately build and lead a team as the department expands.
For someone looking for a role where they can make an impact rather than simply manage an established operation, this could be an excellent next career move.
