How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Salary: £200 - £250 per day

Are you an experienced and adaptable English Teacher available for an immediate start?

Transparency Education is recruiting an English Teacher to join a welcoming independent specialist school. This is an initial two-week assignment; however, there is a strong possibility that the booking will be extended.

You will primarily teach GCSE English and Functional Skills English to pupils with a range of abilities and individual needs. The timetable will also include a small number of Careers lessons. This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly, collaborative school community where staff work closely together to help every learner progress.

    The role

As the English Teacher, you will:

Plan and deliver engaging GCSE English and Functional Skills English lessons.

Adapt teaching materials to reflect pupils’ abilities, learning needs and starting points.

Help learners strengthen their literacy, communication skills and confidence.

Deliver a small number of Careers lessons as part of the timetable.

Maintain a positive, structured and inclusive learning environment.

Monitor pupils’ progress and provide constructive feedback.

Work collaboratively with teaching staff, support professionals and school leaders.

Follow the school’s safeguarding, behaviour and curriculum policies.

    Requirements

We would be pleased to hear from:

    Qualified English Teachers.

FE lecturers or tutors with GCSE and Functional Skills experience.

Experienced English instructors with relevant classroom or teaching experience.

Practitioners who are confident supporting pupils with varied abilities and additional needs.

    Applicants should have:

Recent experience teaching GCSE English and/or Functional Skills English.

Strong subject knowledge and the ability to make English accessible and engaging.

A flexible, patient and adaptable approach.

    Effective classroom and behaviour-management skills.

The ability to build positive professional relationships with pupils and colleagues.

    Immediate or very short-notice availability.

The right to work in the UK.

    Why consider this role?

Join a unique independent specialist school.

Work within a friendly, supportive and collaborative staff team.

Teach small groups of learners with differing abilities and needs.

Make an immediate and meaningful contribution to pupils’ literacy and confidence.

Benefit from a full-time assignment with a strong possibility of extension.

Receive support throughout the placement from Transparency Education.

This opportunity would particularly suit an English Teacher, Functional Skills Lecturer or experienced English Tutor who is immediately available and open to a short-term booking that may develop into a longer-term position.
