How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    - Starting salary of £33,864 (with the opportunity to progress to £37,428 per annum based on annually reviewed performance)
    - 25 days’ holiday per year plus bank holidays, increasing by one day per year up to 29 days and, after five years’ service, to 33 days
    - An extra day’s holiday to be taken one week either side of your birthday

    - Staff arts club, including free entry to London galleries
    - Access to a range of high street and online discounts

This is a fantastic opportunity for a communications, marketing, PR, journalism or media professional with strong content creation experience to join our compassionate charity.

In this creative, fast-paced and impactful role, you’ll have the chance to unleash your imagination on a huge range of projects that will drive engagement with what we do and the breadth of our reach.

What’s more, you’ll be enabled to grow your expertise and develop your professional portfolio in an environment geared toward excellence, teamwork and delivery, ensuring you are perfectly placed and supported to produce your best work to date.

    The Role

As our Communications Officer, you’ll celebrate the positive impact we make through effective communications, digital marketing and PR activities.

Promoting the work that our grants, arts, volunteering and fundraising teams deliver, you will create written, photographic and video content that showcases our work. You will support events and activities, and deliver website content, social media activity and marketing materials.

You will seek to engage internally and externally, partnering with NHS communications teams, staff and stakeholders, gather feedback and evaluate our impact.

    Additionally, you will:

    - Represent us at events and advocate for our work
    - Support other charity teams with events and activities

    About You

To be considered as our Communications Officer, you will need:

    - Experience of producing written copy for a wide range of audiences
    - Experience of using and managing social media accounts in a professional context

    - Experience of using databases and/or CRMs to maintain accurate records
    - A basic understanding of performance evaluation tools, such as Google Analytics
