How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Working closely with mechanical, firmware and production teams, you'll help deliver high-quality products that are practical to manufacture, compliant with industry standards and built for long-term performance.

As an Electronics Design Engineer, you will need to have/be:

    * Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline, with proven experience designing analogue and digital circuits from first principles.

    * Experience developing electronic products from concept through to production, including prototype build, testing, debugging and validation.

    * Strong PCB design and layout experience, with an understanding of EMC, thermal management and manufacturability.

    * Knowledge of power supplies, control systems and communication interfaces.

    * Understanding of regulatory, safety and EMC compliance requirements.

    * Experience selecting components with consideration for performance, reliability, lifecycle and long-term availability.

    * Ability to identify technical risks and implement practical, effective solutions.

    * Experience maintaining and improving existing electronic products, including lifecycle and obsolescence management.

    * Comfortable working across multiple concurrent projects and managing design priorities.

    * Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working alongside mechanical, firmware and manufacturing teams.

    * Ability to produce clear technical documentation, including schematics, design reviews and technical files.

    * Basic firmware development skills for prototyping and diagnostics would be advantageous.

    * A practical, solution-focused approach with a strong emphasis on quality, reliability and robust engineering design.

    Details:

    Salary: £58,500

    Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 39 hours per week

    Location: Telford (hybrid)

    Duration: Permanent

    Role of Electronics Design Engineer:

    * Design analogue and digital electronic circuits and define system architecture from evolving or incomplete product requirements.

    * Produce and review schematics, PCB layouts and supporting technical documentation.

    * Work closely with mechanical, firmware and production teams to ensure designs are practical, manufacturable and reliable.

    * Balance performance, cost, manufacturability and reliability throughout the design process.

    * Support prototype builds, testing, debugging, validation and product introduction, including developing product testing to verify performance, reliability and durability.

    * Identify and resolve technical issues and risks using practical, engineering-led solutions.

    * Ensure designs comply with relevant safety, regulatory, EMC and quality standards and maintain accurate product technical files.

    * Manage multiple design projects and deliver against agreed timescales.

    * Support existing products through lifecycle management, product improvements and obsolescence management.

    * Select components and liaise with suppliers and external specialists while retaining technical ownership of designs.

    * Write simple firmware for prototyping and diagnostic purposes where required.

    * Contribute to continuous improvement and the development of high-quality, reliable products.

    * Maintain a safe working environment and follow company engineering processes and standards.

    Benefits:

    * 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays

    * Pension, parking, professional development and career growth opportunities, plus a collaborative and inclusive working environment
