How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    CNC Miller Programmer

    Location: Coventry, West Midlands
    Salary: £18.00 ? £22.00 per hour, dependent on experience
    Working Hours: Monday?Thursday 7:00am?4:00pm, Friday 7:00am?12:00pm
    Type: Full-time, Permanent

    The Opportunity

    We are working with an established precision engineering business based in Coventry, specialising in the manufacture of close-tolerance components and tooling for a range of demanding industries including automotive, motorsport, defence and oil & gas.

    They are looking to recruit an experienced CNC Miller Programmer to join their team on a permanent day-shift basis.

    This is a hands-on programming, setting and operating role, with the majority of the work being carried out on Hurco CNC machining centres, alongside a small number of Doosan machines.

    The company undertakes a mixture of 3- and 4-axis machining, producing precision components from one-offs and prototypes through to production work.

    The Role

    As a CNC Miller Programmer, you will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines, taking work from drawing through to finished component.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Programming, setting and operating 3- and 4-axis CNC milling machines.
    Working predominantly on Hurco machining centres.
    Setting and operating Doosan CNC machines.
    Creating and editing CNC programmes.
    Using HyperMILL and OneCNC for offline programming.
    Working from engineering drawings, CAD models and specifications.
    Selecting appropriate tooling, speeds and feeds.
    Setting tools, work offsets and machine parameters.
    Carrying out first-off inspections and in-process quality checks.
    Producing one-off, prototype and small-batch precision components.
    Making programme adjustments and optimising machining processes.
    Maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
    Working closely with the wider engineering team to ensure jobs are completed efficiently and on time.
    About You

    The ideal candidate will be an experienced CNC Miller Programmer / Setter Operator with a strong background in CNC milling and offline programming.

    You should have:

    Proven experience programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines.
    Strong experience with Hurco machining centres.
    Experience of 3- or 4-axis milling.
    Experience using an offline CAD/CAM system.
    Knowledge of HyperMILL and/or OneCNC would be highly advantageous.
    Experience with Doosan machines would be beneficial.
    Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
    Good knowledge of tooling, cutting conditions and machining processes.
    Experience producing close-tolerance components.
    Good inspection and measurement skills.
    A methodical approach with excellent attention to detail.
    The ability to work independently and take ownership of jobs from start to finish.
