How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Are you passionate about supporting vulnerable adults and helping people move towards independent living?

    We are currently recruiting for an experienced Homeless Support Worker to work with our client supporting individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

    The Role

    As a Homeless Support Worker, you will provide practical and emotional support to residents, helping them address the challenges that have contributed to their homelessness and work towards achieving greater independence.

    Key responsibilities:

    * Providing one-to-one support to residents

    * Completing assessments and support plans

    * Supporting individuals with housing and accommodation needs

    * Assisting residents to access benefits, healthcare and other services

    * Supporting individuals with budgeting, appointments and daily living skills

    * Encouraging residents to engage with education, training and employment opportunities

    * Working with external agencies and other professionals

    * Monitoring residents' wellbeing and reporting safeguarding concerns

    * Maintaining accurate and confidential case records

    * Supporting residents to move on successfully into appropriate accommodation

    About You

    The successful candidate will ideally have:

    * Previous experience working with homeless or vulnerable adults

    * Experience within supported housing, hostels, outreach or similar services

    * A good understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries

    * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    * A calm, patient and non-judgemental approach

    * The ability to manage challenging situations effectively

    * Strong record-keeping and organisational skills

    * A genuine commitment to helping people achieve positive outcomes
