How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Quality Engineering Manager
    Coatbridge, Lanarkshire | Aerospace, Defence & Advanced Manufacturing
    Permanent | Senior Leadership Opportunity
    Lead Quality. Develop People. Influence Engineering.
    TXM Recruit is partnering with a specialist engineering manufacturer to recruit an experienced Quality Engineering Manager for its Coatbridge operation. This is a senior leadership role within a business manufacturing technically complex, mission-critical products for aerospace, defence and advanced engineering applications.
    You’ll lead a Quality Engineering team of around 10 people, take ownership of the AS9100 and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems, and work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing to improve product quality, process capability and operational performance. This is not purely a systems or compliance role. We’re looking for someone who is technically credible, comfortable on the shop floor and able to develop people, solve complex manufacturing problems and influence standards across the wider business.
    Key Responsibilities
    * Lead, coach and develop a Quality Engineering team of approximately 10.
    * Own and continuously improve AS9100 and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
    * Lead internal, supplier, customer, and certification audits.
    * Drive non-conformance management, Root Cause Analysis, and CAPA.
    * Work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing to improve process capability and product quality.
    * Support FAI, product acceptance, inspection and quality surveillance activities.
    * Develop meaningful quality KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
    * Ensure standards are achieved both within the direct team and across wider Engineering and Manufacturing functions.
    * Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and regulatory bodies.
    About You
    The preferred candidate will be an experienced Quality Manager or Quality Engineering Manager with a strong background in complex manufacturing and previous experience leading a team. A degree in Mechanical Engineering is strongly preferred.
    We will also consider candidates with degrees in:
    * Chemical Engineering
    * Electrical Engineering
    * Chemistry
    * Physics
    You’ll ideally have strong experience of:
    * AS9100 and/or ISO 9001
    * Quality Engineering within regulated manufacturing
    * Team leadership and people development
    * Root Cause Analysis and structured problem solving
    * CAPA and non-conformance management
    * Continuous improvement
    * PFMEA/PFMECA, MSA, SPC, Six Sigma or Risk Management
    Experience within aerospace, defence, electro-mechanical, precision engineering, battery or electrochemical manufacturing would be particularly relevant.
    Process Engineering Managers
    Experienced Process Engineering Managers will also be considered where they have strong manufacturing leadership experience and a genuine interest in moving into Quality Engineering leadership. We’ll be particularly interested in how you have developed engineers and non-engineers, maintained technical standards, and influenced teams outside of your direct reporting structure.
    Why Join?
    This is an opportunity to take real ownership of Quality within a technically advanced manufacturing business, develop an established team and directly influence engineering and manufacturing performance.
