Ocean Export Operations Coordinator

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Ocean Export Operations Coordinator to join an established freight forwarding business based in Solihull.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous experience in ocean freight forwarding and export operations who is looking to develop their career within a busy and professional logistics environment.

The Role

Working as part of the operations team, you will be responsible for coordinating ocean export shipments from start to finish, ensuring customers receive a high level of service and shipments are handled efficiently and accurately.

Key Responsibilities

* Managing ocean export shipments from booking through to final delivery

* Liaising with customers, shipping lines, overseas agents and other relevant parties

* Preparing and processing export documentation

* Booking cargo with shipping lines and coordinating vessel schedules

* Monitoring shipment progress and providing customers with regular updates

* Handling customer queries and resolving any operational issues

* Ensuring all shipments are processed accurately and within required deadlines

* Updating internal systems and maintaining accurate shipment records

* Working closely with internal teams to ensure a smooth end-to-end service

* Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and suppliers

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience within freight forwarding, with a strong understanding of ocean export operations.

We are looking for someone who is:

* Experienced in ocean freight exports

* Confident dealing with customers, suppliers and shipping lines

* Organised and able to manage multiple shipments simultaneously

* Comfortable working in a fast-paced operational environment

* Detail-oriented with strong administration skills

* A good communicator with a customer-focused approach

* Able to work independently as well as part of a team
