How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Working Across the Central Belt of Scotland

    Company Overview

    An established Fire and Security specialist is looking to add an experienced Fire Alarm and/or Security Engineers to its growing engineering team.

    The business delivers integrated Fire and Security solutions across a strong portfolio of commercial contracts, with a focus on technical quality, reliable service and long-term customer relationships.

    This is a good opportunity for an engineer looking to join a well-established operation where there is scope to broaden their technical skillset and develop across multiple disciplines.

    Role Overview

    The successful engineer will be responsible for the service, maintenance, fault finding and repairs of Fire and Security systems across commercial sites throughout the Central Belt of Scotland.

    The client is particularly interested in engineers with a strong Fire Alarm background, although experienced Security Engineers with the right technical ability will also be considered.

    Gent experience and training is preferred, but the role could suit an engineer with strong experience on other manufacturers who is looking to develop their Gent knowledge.

    Requirements

    We're looking for an engineer with:

    * Proven experience within Fire Alarm and/or Security engineering

    * Strong service and maintenance experience

    * Good fault-finding and diagnostic ability

    * Gent experience/training – preferred not essential

    * Experience working on commercial sites

    * Professional approach when dealing with customers

    * Full UK Driving Licence

    * Willingness to continue developing across multiple disciplines

    This would suit an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer looking for a strong package and a well-managed commercial patch, or a Security Engineer who wants to develop further into Fire Alarm and become genuinely multi-disciplined.

    At Secure & Recruit, we pride ourselves on offering a trustworthy and personalised recruitment experience. As experts in the Fire & Security sector, we partner with the industry's leading employers to bring you roles that align with your skills and aspirations. Your preferences will be fully discussed to ensure the best fit possible
