How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A very well established manufacturing business is looking to recruit a skilled Press Brake Setter to join its fabrication team in a long term role, which will become permanent, subject to a successful probationary period.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating Amada press brake machines to manufacture high-quality components in accordance with engineering drawings and customer specifications. Some offline programming experience would be advantageous, and could command a higher hourly wage.

    The role requires a strong attention to detail, commitment to quality, and adherence to health and safety standards.

    Working hours are 39 per week – 7:00am – 4:00pm – Monday-Thursday & 7:00am – 12:00pm – Friday

    Core Responsibilities:
    * Set up and operate Amada CNC press brake machines.
    * Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
    * Select appropriate tooling and perform machine setups for various stainless steel components.
    * Program and adjust machine parameters to achieve accurate bends and tolerances.
    * Inspect finished parts using measuring equipment to ensure compliance with specifications.
    * Perform first-off and in-process quality inspections.
    * Handle stainless steel materials carefully to prevent damage and contamination.
    * Work to production schedules while maintaining high quality standards.
    * Carry out routine machine maintenance and daily housekeeping.
    * Report machine faults, quality issues, or material shortages to the supervisor.

    Required Skills and Experience:
    * Previous experience operating CNC press brake machines (eg: Amada, Bystronic, Trumpf, or similar)
    * Experience working with mild & stainless steel fabrication.
    * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
    * Knowledge of press brake tooling and bending techniques.
    * Competent in using measuring equipment such as verniers, calipers, angle gauges, and tape measures.
    * Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
    * Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
    * Ability to meet production deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
