The Machinist will operate grinding and machining equipment, support production teams and carry out essential measurement and inspection tasks. This Machinist position runs on a four‑shift rotation of two days and two nights, with 4 days off. We welcome applications from anyone with experience as a Machinist, Machine Operator, CNC Machine Setter, Grinder, Cylindrical Grinder or Surface Grinder.
The Machinist will use micrometers, verniers and dial indicators to check dimensions and finish, and log data through digital HMIs.
Structured Training Programme
You will receive a detailed, multi‑stage training programme designed to take you from competent operator to advanced grinder/machinist. Training includes:
* Grinding fundamentals and machine components
* Roll geometry, measurement and surface‑finish control
* Wheel selection, dressing and abrasive‑wheel safety
* Defect recognition (chatter, burns, spirals, scratches)
* Coolant control and process stability
* Troubleshooting, parameter optimisation and continuous improvement
