How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SEN Learning Support Assistant - Doncaster

    Are you an experienced SEN Learning Support Assistant looking for a rewarding role supporting pupils with additional needs in a mainstream school?

    Academics are currently recruiting for an SEN Learning Support Assistant to work across mainstream primary and secondary schools in Doncaster. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced SEN Learning Support Assistant who enjoys providing targeted support and helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.

    Position: SEN Learning Support Assistant
    Location: Doncaster
    Contract: Temporary, flexible ongoing supply
    Pay: £92.56 - £95 per day (dependent on experience, training, qualifications and client rate available, paid via PAYE - no umbrella company fees, inclusive of holiday pay)
    Start Date: ASAP / September

    About the Role

    As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will work within mainstream schools across Doncaster, supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs. You may provide 1:1 or small-group support, assist pupils within the classroom and help them access the curriculum.

    The SEN Learning Support Assistant role would suit someone who is patient, adaptable and confident supporting pupils with different learning needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH and other SEN.

    Key Responsibilities

    Provide individual, small-group and classroom support to pupils with SEN
    Help pupils access learning and participate positively in school life
    Support pupils with additional learning, communication and behavioural needs
    Work closely with teachers and other support staff
    Encourage independence, confidence and positive engagement
    Adapt your approach to meet individual pupil needs
    Follow school safeguarding and behaviour policiesCandidate Requirements

    Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN
    Experience as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant or similar
    A patient, supportive and adaptable approach
    Good communication and teamwork skills
    Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
    Relevant qualifications or training are desirable but not essential where suitable experience is heldWhat Academics Offer
