How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Spencer Clarke Group are currently recruiting for Secondary Teachers to work across a variety of schools in Darlington and the surrounding areas.

    Whether you're looking for flexible day-to-day supply, short-term assignments or a long-term placement, we have opportunities to suit your availability, experience and preferred subjects.

    As a Secondary Supply Teacher, you will have the opportunity to work across a range of schools and year groups, delivering high-quality lessons and supporting pupils in the absence of their regular teacher.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Delivering engaging lessons across your specialist subject or the wider curriculum.
    Following lesson plans and adapting learning activities where required.
    Managing classroom behaviour effectively.
    Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
    Supporting students with their learning and development.
    Building positive relationships with pupils and school staff.
    Providing feedback to the school where appropriate.
    Following school policies and safeguarding procedures.We would love to hear from:

    Qualified Secondary Teachers with QTS.
    Early Career Teachers (ECTs).
    Experienced supply teachers.
    Teachers returning to the profession.
    Teachers looking for greater flexibility around their current commitments.
    Subject specialists across English, Maths, Science, Humanities, MFL, PE, Technology, Art, Music and more.
