How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Contract Manager – Highways Drainage
    Location: Glastonbury
    Salary: Circa £50,000 + Company Vehicle or Car Allowance + Benefits

    Our client, a fast-growing drainage contractor, is seeking an experienced, proactive, and driven Contract Manager in Warwickshire. In this pivotal role, you will manage and resource a wide range of operational drainage activities, including gully emptying, reactive jetting, root cutting, CCTV surveys, and traffic management. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated drainage / highways professional to lead a key contract and drive operational success.

    The Role:
     
    Overall responsibility for contract delivery, health & safety, and monthly P&L
    Lead a small, agile depot team in a flexible and innovative environment
    Coordinate and plan on-site resources, ensuring safe working practices at all times
    Manage contract performance, standards, and targets
    Line management a team of circa 40 drainage personnels, handling any performance issues
    Build and maintain strong client relationships
    Develop, monitor, and manage the works programme and schedule of rates
    Oversee cost control, monthly applications, and contract pricing
    Conduct regular site audits with a focus on safety and quality
    About You:
     
    Proven experience as a Contract Manager or similar within the drainage, highways or utilities industry
    Full UK Driving Licence
    Skilled in managing safe working practices
    CSCS card holder & health and safety qualification (SMSTS or IOSH Managing Safely)
    Excellent team leadership, planning, and client-facing skills
