MULTI-MODAL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Location: Tamworth

Salary Up to £70,000 Basic + Commission / Bonus

Hours: Mon - Fri 8:30am - 17:00pm field based/hybrid/remote

I'm currently working with a well-established and growing international logistics and freight forwarding business that is looking to appoint an experienced Multi-Modal Business Development Manager to join its UK operation.

This is a genuinely autonomous commercial role for someone who knows freight, understands how to win profitable business and wants the freedom to develop their own market rather than operate within a heavily structured corporate sales environment.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly into the UK Managing Director, you will take ownership of your commercial activity and be responsible for identifying, winning and developing new business across a broad multi-modal freight proposition.

There is no rigid geographical restriction on the territory. While the primary focus will naturally be on developing business across the Midlands, you will have the freedom to pursue the right customers and opportunities wherever they are located.

You'll have the backing of an established international logistics business, but the autonomy to build your own pipeline, develop relationships and create new commercial opportunities.

The proposition covers road, air, ocean and wider freight forwarding / logistics solutions, giving you the flexibility to develop solutions around customer requirements rather than being restricted to a single mode.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an established freight forwarding BDM / Business Development Manager who:

Has a proven track record of winning new business within freight forwarding or logistics.
Has strong multi-modal knowledge across road, air and ocean.
Is commercially minded and understands the importance of revenue, margin and profitable growth.
Is confident prospecting, networking and opening new customer relationships.
Can manage the full sales cycle from initial prospect through to negotiation, implementation and account development.
Has the confidence and maturity to operate autonomously while working closely with senior management and operations.
Has an established network or demonstrable ability to build one.
