How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Role: Class 2 Driver

    Location: Ashford, Middlesex

    Hours: Full time, 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with overtime and weekend working available

    Salary: £36,000 + overtime

    An excellent opportunity has now arisen for an Class 2 Driver to join our client's successful and close-knit team.

    Who are they?

    Our client is a well-established specialist delivery business providing a high-quality white glove delivery and installation service. This is a varied role combining HGV driving with the delivery, handling and installation of high-value and specialist items.

    The role involves working as part of a team to safely handle, transport, deliver and install items for customers, so candidates need to be physically capable, practical and comfortable using basic tools.

    Duties of a Class 2 Driver:

    Drive a varied HGV fleet and occasionally a Luton van
    Provide a professional white glove delivery service
    Deliver high-value and specialist items safely and securely
    Assist with the installation and building of delivered items
    Safely handle and heavy lift items as part of a team
    Wrap items and take photographs where required
    Use basic tools to assist with installation work
    Work closely with colleagues to ensure deliveries are completed to a high standard
    Communicate professionally with customers throughout the delivery process
    Maintain flexibility with working hours, including occasional afternoon/evening on-call work
    Participate in weekend working, approximately 1 in 3 weekends
    What we would like from you:

    Valid HGV Class 2 licence
    Previous HGV driving experience is preferred, ideally around 2 years, although newly qualified drivers will be considered
    Physically fit and able to carry out heavy lifting
    Comfortable with practical work, tools and installation tasks
    Good communication skills are essential
    Professional and customer-focused approach
    Strong team player who is comfortable working closely with colleagues
    Flexible approach to working hours
    Willingness to work approximately 1 in 3 weekends
    Reliable, hardworking and willing to learn
    Able to provide a high level of care when handling high-value items
