How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Bid Manager to take ownership of significant tenders and work alongside some of the industry's leading commercial, technical and operational professionals.

    The Role

As Bid Manager, you will lead the bid process from initial opportunity through to submission and, where successful, handover to the project delivery team.

You will be responsible for developing compelling, commercially sound and technically robust bids that demonstrate our ability to deliver safely, efficiently and collaboratively.

    Your responsibilities will include:

Leading and managing multiple tenders from opportunity qualification through to submission.
Developing and managing detailed bid programmes, ensuring key deadlines are achieved.
Coordinating multidisciplinary bid teams including estimating, commercial, engineering, planning, procurement, SHEQ and operations.
Developing clear and compelling win strategies and bid plans.
Managing the production of high-quality technical and quality submissions.
Working closely with Estimating and Commercial teams to ensure pricing and proposals are fully aligned.
Engaging with clients, consultants and supply chain partners throughout the tender process.
Challenging and developing innovative approaches to methodology, programme, construction and delivery.
Managing bid governance, reviews, approvals and risk throughout the process.
Ensuring submissions are accurate, compliant, compelling and delivered to the highest standard.
Supporting presentations, interviews and negotiations with clients.
Leading the successful handover of secured projects to the operational delivery team.

    About You

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

Proven experience working as a Bid Manager within civil engineering, infrastructure or construction.
Experience managing large, complex and high-value tenders, ideally within a main contractor environment.
Strong understanding of civil engineering construction methodologies and project delivery.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to coordinate and influence multidisciplinary teams.
Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of estimating, risk and contract strategy.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
A strong understanding of client requirements and what makes a successful bid.
Confidence presenting proposals to senior stakeholders and clients.
A proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused approach.A relevant construction, engineering or commercial qualification would be advantageous, although strong industry experience will be equally valued.

    Why Join Us?

This is an opportunity to join a forward-thinking main contractor working on some of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects.

You will have the opportunity to:

    Lead high-profile, strategically important bids.
Work with experienced and highly capable pre-construction and delivery teams.
Develop your career within a major Tier 1 organisation.
Be involved in projects that make a genuine difference to communities and UK infrastructure.
Work in a collaborative environment where your ideas and experience are valued.
Benefit from a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.

    Ready to make your mark?

If you're an experienced Bid Manager who thrives on winning complex civil engineering opportunities and wants to play a key role in shaping major infrastructure projects, we'd love to hear from you.
