Salary Guide: £55,000 - £60,000 Plus Car/Allowance & Excellent Package
Our client is a Tier 1 D&B Contractor operating predominantly in the water industry who have been awarded a programme of work to deliver non-infrastructure water and wastewater projects for United Utilities and they are recruiting for a Senior Health & Safety Advisor to help deliver these projects throughout the North West.
In this role you will report to the SHEQ Framework Manager and your role will cover advising the SHEQ team at a Senior level. Key responsibilities will include:
Managing SHEQ risk and delivering best in class performance at a Senior Level.
Maintaining a dynamic and driven approach to supporting SHEQ across the company.
Facilitating the development and implementation of policies, procedures, management systems and risk controls, which will help reduce risk and support a positive SHEQ culture.
Organising audits and supporting the delivery and execution of SHEQ assurance audits.
Conducting accident/incident investigations and/or supporting investigations conducted by the Head of SHEQ.
Integrating within the wider project teams to understand day to day challenges.
Working with clients to deliver collaborative approaches to SHEQ.
Exposure to the project management lifecycle of project delivery.
Highlighting opportunity for sustainable solutions.
Trending and analysis of key performance data.
Maintenance of externally certified management systems.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
Strong knowledge of UK health & safety legislation, CDM Regulations, and HSE guidance
Experience with SHEQ management systems (e.g. ISO/OHSAS 45001) and audit processes.
Experience of data analysis, trend identification and reporting
Extensive experience in the Construction sector
Detailed knowledge of current and pending HSE Directives for health and safety
Detailed knowledge of current statutory health and safety law in the UK
Detailed knowledge of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM)
Detailed knowledge of good practice in construction, e.g. HSE guidance and approved codes of practice.
Knowledge and experience of OHSAS 45001 (or similar management systems)
Formal qualification in Occupational Safety and Health, e.g. NEBOSH diploma or higher
Membership of recognise H&S Institution to an appropriate level
Construction-related health and safety qualification such as NEBOSH Construction.
Desirable:
Experience in the water sector
Ability to collect, analyse and evaluate large volumes of data whilst maintaining data integrity.
Ability to identify trends in data and clearly articulate the issue or findings.
Proven experience of working as part of a SHEQ team.
Ability to interpret legislation and Approved codes of Practise.
Good organisational and time management skills.
Good communicator who's comfortable engaging at all levels within the organisation as you will be advising the team at a senior level.
Confidence to make decisions whilst recognising when appropriate to escalate issues or concerns.
Good Microsoft Office skills especially Visio, Excel and PowerPoint.
