How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Morson Edge are working with a leading infrastructure delivery organisation to recruit an experienced Project Manager to join their Water and Wastewater team in Scotland.

This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a major long-term capital investment programme delivering critical water and wastewater infrastructure projects across Scotland, supporting the renewal, resilience and improvement of essential assets for future generations.

You will play a key role within a collaborative, safety-first environment delivering infrastructure projects across a major water sector programme, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standards of quality, cost and performance.

    The Opportunity

Working within an established delivery team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of projects from planning through to completion.

You will oversee programme performance, manage principal subcontractors, lead project teams, drive commercial and operational outcomes, and ensure alignment with client requirements and investment targets.

    Key Responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to required quality standards.
Work closely with PMO and planning teams to develop and monitor contractual programmes.
Work closely with commercial teams to understand project LBE, target costs, monthly forecasting and expenditure throughout the project lifecycle.
Manage change throughout the project lifecycle while driving effective risk management.
Manage principal subcontracts and ensure effective contract delivery.
Communicate effectively with clients to understand requirements and evaluate technical solutions.
Develop strong relationships with clients and senior management teams.
Deliver projects against key milestones and investment targets.
Ensure design is progressed to support programme requirements.
Ensure suitably skilled resources are identified, sourced and available for project delivery.
Maintain strong relationships with wider business functions to support project delivery.
Ensure defects are identified, recorded and closed out in a timely manner.
Lead incident investigations in conjunction with SHEQ teams.
Drive efficiency and productivity improvements across delivery teams.

    Essential Skills & Experience

Knowledge and experience within the water, construction or utilities industry is essential.
Proven track record in managing construction teams and frontline managers.
Proven experience delivering projects within a complex infrastructure environment.
Strong understanding of project controls, cost management and programme delivery.
    Proven experience managing principal subcontractors.
Proven track record in delivering efficiency savings.
Strong stakeholder and customer management skills.
Ability to manage change and risk throughout the project lifecycle.
Degree, HND, HNC or equivalent qualification in Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline.
    Valid UK driving licence.
Strong communication, leadership and relationship management skills.

    Desirable Experience

Experience working within regulated utility environments.
Experience delivering water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
Experience working across major capital investment programmes.
Knowledge of framework or alliance-based delivery models.
Experience managing a portfolio of projects rather than a single project.
Understanding of health, safety and environmental requirements within construction environments.

    What's on Offer

    £52,500 – £68,250 salary.
    Permanent position.
Long-term pipeline of work within the water and infrastructure sector.
Company car and fuel card, with EV and hybrid options available.
    Salary sacrifice EV/hybrid car scheme.
    Private healthcare with family cover.
    Health Care Cash Plan.

If you are an experienced Project Manager with a background in the water, utilities, construction or infrastructure sector, we would be keen to hear from you.
