How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Bid Writer – Social Housing

    📍 Romford, Essex
    💰 Up to £50,000
    📋 Permanent | Full-Time

    We’re working with an established construction and property services contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Bid Writer to join their team in Romford.

    This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in social housing, repairs & maintenance, refurbishment or construction who wants to play a key role in winning new contracts and framework opportunities.

    The Role

    You’ll be responsible for producing high-quality, compelling tender submissions for housing associations, local authorities and other public-sector clients.

    Key responsibilities include:

    * Managing bids from initial opportunity through to final submission

    * Writing and coordinating PQQs, SQs, ITTs and framework submissions

    * Reviewing tender documentation and identifying key requirements

    * Producing high-quality technical and quality responses

    * Developing method statements, case studies and project examples

    * Working closely with operational, commercial and technical teams

    * Gathering information from internal stakeholders and turning it into compelling bid content

    * Developing strong win themes and client-focused responses

    * Maintaining and developing the company's bid library

    * Ensuring submissions are accurate, compliant and delivered within deadlines

    * Supporting continuous improvement and lessons learned across the bid function

    About You

    We’re looking for someone who has:

    * Previous experience as a Bid Writer, Bid Manager, Proposal Writer or similar

    * Experience within social housing, property services, construction, repairs & maintenance or refurbishment

    * Strong knowledge of public-sector tendering and procurement

    * Excellent written English and attention to detail

    * Experience producing persuasive tender responses

    * The ability to manage multiple bids and tight deadlines

    * Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

    * Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word and PowerPoint

    Experience with housing associations, local authorities, planned maintenance, refurbishment or public-sector frameworks would be highly advantageous.
