How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a welcoming secondary school in Daventry that is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Unqualified Teacher to join their team from September 2026.

    The school can offer full-time opportunities on a permanent, long-term, or flexible supply basis, making this an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to gain experience in education while finding a role that suits their career plans and availability.

    This position would suit graduates, Cover Supervisors, Teaching Assistants, tutors, sports coaches, mentors, youth workers, or aspiring teachers who are keen to develop their classroom skills and explore a future career in teaching.

    You will work alongside experienced teachers and school leaders, gaining practical experience in lesson delivery, classroom management, student engagement, and supporting pupil progress.

    The Role

    Deliver pre-planned lessons across KS3 and KS4 using school and departmental resources.
    Lead whole-class learning when covering for the usual classroom teacher.
    Create a calm, structured, and positive classroom environment.
    Set clear expectations and manage behaviour consistently.
    Encourage students to remain focused, motivated, and actively involved in their learning.
    Provide appropriate support and encouragement to help students make progress.
    Build positive relationships with pupils and work effectively with teaching and support staff.
    Support the wider school community through enrichment, interventions, and school activities where appropriate.
    Take part in relevant training and professional development opportunities.

    About You

    Experience working with young people through education, tutoring, coaching, mentoring, youth work, or a similar environment.
    Confident communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
    Comfortable leading groups and taking responsibility for a classroom.
    A calm, professional, and adaptable approach.
    Strong organisation, reliability, and resilience.
    The ability to manage behaviour and maintain a purposeful learning environment.
    A genuine interest in education and a desire to support young people to succeed.
    An ambition to develop a long-term career within teaching or education.
    A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
