How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Freight Coordinator - Deep Sea Imports

    £32,000 - £38,000 DOE | London Gateway | Hybrid Working

    Are you an experienced Import Freight Operator looking for a stable role with a growing logistics business and a supportive team?

    We're looking for a detail-focused Deep Sea Import Operator to join our London Gateway team, managing the smooth running of import shipments and working closely with customers, suppliers and shipping lines.

    The role

    You'll take ownership of the day-to-day import operation, ensuring shipments are handled accurately, efficiently and to a high standard.

    Key responsibilities include:

    Managing deep sea import shipments from booking through to completion
    Processing bookings and operational documentation
    Invoicing and completing operational files
    Liaising with shipping lines, customers and suppliers
    Resolving invoice and supplier queries
    Maintaining accurate operational records
    Supporting the wider operations team and providing holiday cover
    Following AEO procedures and company processes
    Working towards CargoWise One accreditation

    About you

    You'll ideally have:

    Previous freight forwarding experience, with a strong focus on imports
    Good knowledge of deep sea import procedures
    Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
    Strong communication skills
    Good IT and Microsoft Office knowledge
    A proactive, can-do attitude
    The ability to work independently once trained while contributing positively to a close-knit teamCargoWise One experience is desirable but not essential.
