How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Electrical QA/QC Engineer - Power & Renewables

    Location: Scotland
    Permanent | Full-Time
    Competitive Salary + Package

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical QA/QC Engineer to join a growing engineering contractor delivering major Power, Renewables and Electrical Infrastructure projects across Scotland.

This position will take responsibility for quality control across multiple projects, supporting delivery from pre-construction through installation, testing, commissioning and final project handover.

We're particularly interested in candidates with previous experience across HV/MV substations, Transmission & Distribution, electrical infrastructure, switchgear or HV/MV cabling. However, strong Electrical QA/QC Engineers from other technically demanding construction environments will also be considered.

    The Role

Working closely with Engineering, Construction, Commissioning, Planning, EHS, supply chain partners and clients, you'll help ensure electrical installations are delivered to the required technical and quality standards.

    Responsibilities will include:

    * Developing, maintaining and monitoring Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and associated quality documentation

    * Developing and managing electrical test packs through to final handover

    * Defining system boundaries and ensuring test documentation is complete and accurately tracked

    * Monitoring electrical installation, inspection and testing activities

    * Managing quality issues, defects, snags and non-conformances through to close-out

    * Conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implementing corrective actions

    * Monitoring quality performance across subcontractors and supply chain partners

    * Reviewing calibration certification for electrical test and measuring equipment

    * Supporting project-specific method statements and quality procedures

    * Managing digital quality records and ensuring accurate project data

    * Monitoring quality KPIs and developing improvement plans where required

    * Supporting first-of-kind and benchmark inspections

    * Capturing lessons learned and driving continuous improvement across projects

    * Compiling final quality documentation and handover packs

    * Working directly with project teams, subcontractors and client representatives

    * Promoting a strong right-first-time quality culture across project sites

    About You

    You'll ideally have:

    * A degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline, or an equivalent electrical trade qualification

    * Approximately 5+ years' QA/QC or Quality Engineering experience within an Engineering & Construction environment

    * Strong electrical engineering/construction knowledge

    * Experience developing and managing ITPs, test packs, quality documentation and inspection records

    * Experience managing NCRs, root-cause investigations and corrective actions

    * Knowledge of relevant electrical installation, testing and quality standards

    * ISO 9001 auditor certification and/or auditing experience

    * Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills

    * Confidence working across multidisciplinary construction and engineering teams

    * Excellent communication and presentation skills

    * Ability to communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors and senior project stakeholders

    Particularly Relevant Experience

Previous exposure to any of the following would be highly advantageous:

    HV/MV Substations | Transmission & Distribution | HV/MV Cable Systems | Cable Jointing | Switchgear | Transformers | Grid Connections | Renewables | Power Infrastructure | Electrical EPC | Testing & Commissioning

Candidates coming from Data Centres, Pharmaceutical, Industrial or other major M&E construction environments will also be considered where they can demonstrate strong electrical QA/QC experience.

    What's On Offer?

This is an opportunity to join a growing engineering business with a significant pipeline of work across the Power and Renewables sector in Scotland.

You'll work on technically complex electrical infrastructure projects while having genuine responsibility for quality performance from construction through to successful handover.

A competitive salary and wider benefits package is available, dependent on experience.
