How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Location: Worcestershire
    Working Arrangement: Permanent/Available Hybrid
Salary: From £38,000 depending on experience

    About the Role

We are working with an innovative technology business operating within the Internet of Things (IoT) space, who are looking to add a talented Front-End UI / Full-Stack Software Developer to their growing development team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a developer who enjoys building modern web applications but also wants exposure across the wider technology stack. You will primarily focus on front-end development, whilst contributing to back-end services, APIs, databases and secure client-server communication.

You will work closely with experienced developers, engineers and end users to deliver high-quality software solutions. The business is also committed to supporting your technical development through training, certifications and hands-on experience with new technologies.

    Key Responsibilities

Design, develop and maintain modern, responsive web applications.
Build intuitive and user-friendly front-end interfaces.
Contribute to back-end services and RESTful APIs.
Develop and maintain relational database schemas.
Implement secure communication between clients and servers.
Work with developers, engineers and end users to understand application requirements.
Test software and contribute to automated testing processes.
    Investigate and resolve software defects.
Deploy fixes, upgrades and new software functionality.
Identify and address potential security vulnerabilities.
Carry out quality assurance and ensure development standards are maintained.
    Maintain technical and product documentation.
Collaborate with the wider development team and share knowledge and best practices.
Use customer feedback to improve functionality and user experience.
Contribute ideas for new projects, technologies and improvements.
    About You

We are looking for a developer with a genuine interest in technology and a willingness to learn. You should be comfortable taking ownership of your work whilst also collaborating effectively within a development team.

    Essential Experience

Commercial experience in full-stack software development.
Strong experience with HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript.
Experience developing modern, responsive web applications.
Experience with a modern front-end framework such as React, Angular or Vue.js.
Understanding of RESTful APIs and secure client-server communication.
Experience working with relational databases and database schemas.
Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.
    Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and use your own initiative.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
    Desirable Experience

Experience with any of the following would be advantageous:

.NET Core / ASP.NET Web API
    Microsoft Azure
    SQL Server, MySQL or PostgreSQL
    Node.js or Python
    AWS
    Docker / containerisation
    Automated testing and CI/CD
    Data analytics or machine learning
Internet of Things (IoT) technologies and applications

You don't need experience across the entire technology stack. A strong front-end developer with an interest in expanding into full-stack development will also be considered.

    What's On Offer?

Salary from £38,000, depending on experience
    Full-time or part-time opportunities
Potential for agile/hybrid working following induction
Company-funded training courses and professional certifications
