Our client is a well-established specialist contractor working across civil engineering and structural repair, delivering complex projects on bridges, structures and major infrastructure UK-wide. They offer a varied, technically interesting workload spanning structural rehabilitation and strengthening through to elements of major new-build schemes.
They're looking to add either an Estimator or a Senior Estimator to their Acton office. Hybrid working is genuinely built into the role, easing to around 50% office-based once you're settled in.
The role
Review tender documentation, drawings and specifications to define scope and identify key risks and opportunities
Prepare conceptual, budget and firm-price cost estimates, building up labour, plant, materials and subcontract costs
Issue enquiries, analyse subcontractor quotations, and build robust cost comparisons
Conduct site visits to understand constraints, logistics and methodology
Work closely with Operations, Technical, Commercial and HSQE teams to ensure estimates are deliverable and safe
Develop bid clarification and risk registers, and support governance and submission documentation
Build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners, supporting wider business developmentWhat we're looking for
Proven estimating experience within structural repairs, civil engineering, or a related specialist construction sector
Multi-disciplinary knowledge across areas such as concrete repair, structural strengthening, and refurbishment of bridges and structures — a good range matters more than ticking every box
A degree in civil engineering or a related discipline is advantageous but not essential
Strong commercial awareness and confident stakeholder engagement across operational and technical teams
Full UK driving licence; CSCS card desirable
