Site Fitter required in Batley, West Yorkshire — architectural metalwork and steel installation, £18.50–£37.00 per hour, temp-to-perm.
Stoa Recruitment are recruiting a skilled Site Fitter on behalf of an established steel fabrication business in Batley, West Yorkshire. Two Site Fitter positions are available on a temp-to-perm basis — a permanent contract for the right fitter based on performance.
The Role
As a Site Fitter you will be installing architectural staircases, balustrades, handrails, and glass panels in mild and stainless steel across various sites. You'll be working from site packs, leading semi-skilled fitters on site, and taking real ownership of delivering a quality finish on time and to standard every time.
This is a role for a Site Fitter who takes pride in the work and wants a permanent position with a business that values skilled tradespeople.
What You'll Be Doing
* Fabricating and fitting secondary steelwork and architectural metalwork — stairs, balustrades, handrails, and glass panels
* Working from site packs including RAMS, drawings, parts lists, and bolt lists
* Managing and delegating tasks to semi-skilled fitters on site
* Maintaining high standards throughout to deliver a quality finish every time
* Keeping accurate daily records of work carried out, alterations, and downtime
* Working safely to method statements at all times
What We Need From You
* Skilled experience in mild and stainless steel fabrication and installation — architectural staircases and balustrades essential
* Confident reading fabrication and installation drawings
* Knowledge of steel construction and architectural metalwork installation
* Strong health and safety awareness throughout
* Ability to lead and delegate to semi-skilled fitters on site
* Flexibility to work to strict deadlines including outside normal hours when required
* Desirable tickets: IPAF, PASMA, CSCS, Telehandler, FLT, Harness Training, Slinger Banksman
What You Get
* £18.50–£37.00 per hour dependent on experience
* Overtime after 39.25 hours is paid at x1.5 & x2 for weekends
* Weekly pay every Friday
* 39.15 hours per week
