How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    An immediate start opportunity inside IR 35 exists for a Senior Quantity Surveyor on a large industrial project completing essential wellfair facilities.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute Senior QS with strong JCT contract experience and a proven track record of managing subcontractor accounts, variations, valuations, and final accounts through project completion. Relevant experience with JCT contracts and subcontract package management within large construction projects is sought.

    Your duties will include –

    Lead all commercial aspects of the welfare facilities package from current stage through to final account.

    Manage subcontractor procurement, payments, variations, and contractual correspondence.

    Prepare, submit, and negotiate interim valuations and payment applications.

    Undertake cost forecasting, cost reporting, and cashflow management.

    Identify, notify, and manage compensation events, variations, and change control processes.

    Produce and maintain accurate CVRs and project financial reports.

    Liaise closely with the client, main contractor, project management team, and supply chain partners.

    Support project delivery teams with commercial and contractual advice.

    Negotiate and agree final accounts in a timely manner.

    Requirements for this post include

    Degree/Diploma in Quantity Surveying or similar, MRICS preferable

    Previous recent experience working on major contracts as a nominated subcontractor

    Proven ability to manage subcontractor accounts from procurement through to final account.

    Strong working knowledge of JCT contracts and subcontract administration.

    Experience producing CVRs, forecasts, cost reports, and cashflow projections.

    Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

    Ability to work autonomously while supporting a collaborative project team

    CSCS card essential.
