Are you an experienced HR Advisor, HR Officer or People Advisor who enjoys working in a fast-paced operational environment? We are recruiting for an HR Advisor to support the Transport operation of a major UK food and agriculture business, based near Sleaford, Lincolnshire.
About the Role
This is a varied, hands-on HR role working closely with transport managers and employees across a busy operational workforce. You will provide practical HR advice, manage employee relations matters and help managers deal confidently and consistently with day-to-day people issues.
Responsibilities
- Advising managers on employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, conduct and capability
- Managing and supporting absence and sickness cases
- Coaching managers through HR policies, procedures and employee issues
- Supporting investigations, meetings and formal HR processes
- Providing practical advice in line with UK employment legislation
- Supporting recruitment, onboarding and employee retention
- Maintaining accurate HR systems and employee records
- Supporting training, development and compliance activity
- Helping drive employee engagement and a positive workplace culture
- Supporting wider HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Previous experience in an HR advisory or generalist role
- Strong practical experience of employee relations
- Experience managing disciplinary, grievance, absence and capability matters
- Good knowledge of UK employment law
- Confidence advising and supporting operational managers
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Good HR administration and HR systems experience
- A practical, resilient and solutions-focused approach
- CIPD qualification or be working towards CIPD
- Experience within transport, logistics, distribution, warehousing, FMCG, food production, manufacturing or another high-volume operational environment would be highly advantageous.
Required Skills
- Strong practical experience of employee relations
- Good knowledge of UK employment law
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Skills
- CIPD qualification or be working towards CIPD
- Experience within transport, logistics, distribution, warehousing, FMCG, food production, manufacturing or another high-volume operational environment would be highly advantageous.

Sleaford, Lincolnshire
37.5 hours per week
Monday to Thursday: 8:45am – 5:00pm
Friday: 8:45am – 3:45pm
